1st Witness: SPO4 Charlie Bayoca

The first witness for the prosecution is SPO4 Charlie Bayoca. The witness testified that he was then the Chief of the Follow-Up Section of the Parañaque Police Station.

On October 29, at around 11:00 o’clock in the morning. SPO1 Acbang and PO3 Encallado referred for his follow-up a shooting incident and abduction case which happened allegedly at President Avenue, Barangay BF, Parañaque City.

As the Chief of the section, he conducted a follow-up investigation at the crime scene, together with the Chief of the Intelligence Unit, Major Torred, SPO4 Legaspi, SPO4 Amongol. SPO3 Dela Torre, and PO2 Vasquez.

The place was at No. 4 President Avenue, Phase 6-A, Barangay BF, Parañaque City. The group went to the scene of the crime at around 11:30 o’clock in the evening of October 29. 2011. The group made follow up investigation on the security guards, the housemaids, and other witnesses to find vital witnesses. He investigated Security Guard Tabada and Security Guard Asimbrado, who were then the guards on duty at the gate.

At about 1:30 in the afternoon of October 30, he received a call from their Chief of Police for a briefing.

They proceeded to the office of the Chief of Police where there was an informant providing info regarding the shooting incident of Ramgen Bautista and Janelle Manahan. The informant was Ruel Puzon who revealed that he knows the people behind the incident mentioning the names and the whereabouts of the two (2) suspects, namely, Michael and Kiko. The two (2) can be found at Tramo Street, Barangay San Dionisio, and Bonifacio Street, also in San Dioninio. Parañaque City. The Chief of Police of Parañaque then formed a team and with Ruel Puzon proceeded to the place of Michael.

First, the group went to Tramo Street, San Dionisio and Ruel Puzon pointed to a man named Kiko who was later known as Francis Tolisora. The two (2) persons were brought to the lnvestigation Division. Aside from the arrest of Michael and Kiko, the witness had no other participation on the case. (See TSN of May 2, 2012, pp. 11-87; TSN of May 21, 2012, pp. 11-63)


The first witness of the prosecution has admitted in his testimony that RJ Bautista was NOT part of the group of co-accused Nartea and Tolisora, that the witness arrested. Hence, the witness cannot pin down Ramon Joseph (RJ) Bautista’s participation in the alleges crime.

More than that, he also testified that he was present during the ‘interrogation’ of the star witness, Ruel Puzon. Defense lawyers said that he is incompetent to answer other questions about the case as he is only the arresting officer. He has no personality in the case as a whole.
